Is your young person involved in band or choir at school or church? Does your child write songs or create their own music? Does your child want to be around other young artists, young musicians, creatives, artists, singers, and songwriters? The Stax Music Academy is the place for them.
We are holding auditions for the 2024 spring semester on Friday, December 8th from 3:30 – 6:30 pm.

SMA produces not only great musicians but also inspired youth whose academic, cognitive, performance and leadership skills are greatly enhanced by the program.
Through the fundraising efforts of the Soulsville Foundation, scholarships and deeply discounted tuition rates are available for those who qualify.
The Stax Music Academy performance ensemble audition process is a 2 song performance evaluation, music theory assessment and interview. Potential production students deliver an mp3 of original material alongside taking the music theory assessment and interview. Stax 101 students are not required to audition.
