Stax Music Academy seeks part time Data Support Assistant

The Soulsville Foundation is the parent organization for the Stax Music Academy, Soulsville Charter School, and Stax Museum of American Soul Music. The individual in this role will be required to meet expectations to work collaboratively within all programs on campus.

POSITION TITLE: Stax Music Academy Data Support Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Stax Music Academy Student Services Manager
START DATE: November 2023
COMPENSATION: $15/hr for 20 hours/week
STATUS: Part Time, Nonexempt

SUMMARY
Stax Music Academy is seeking a young professional who is full of creative ideas and eager to tell the story of the impact of music education in an after school music program through the use of specific data collected in the program. The data support assistant will work with the Student Services Manager to enhance the existing processes, as well as establish new processes to collect information that details organizational impact. The person in this role will focus on collecting at least 1-2 data points with fidelity. Specific projects assigned will be used to reflect the impact of SMA more effectively.

GENERAL SOULSVILLE FOUNDATION STAFF REQUIREMENTS:

? Act as a member of the Stax Music Academy and Soulsville Foundation team by attending meetings and
providing input to strategic initiatives.
? Participate in long range strategic planning and annual budgeting.
? Act as a positive role model to the students of The Soulsville Charter School and Stax Music Academy, who are a consistent presence in the Soulsville Foundation office.
? Represent the Stax Music Academy Soulsville Foundation as a positive, professional, and active member of the Greater Memphis Community.
? Be available to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays with reasonable notice.
? Must possess a valid driver’s license and show proof of liability insurance coverage as required by the laws of the State of Tennessee.
? Be fully vaccinated with at least one round of the COVID-19 vaccine.

DATA SUPPORT ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Organizing and updating student files and program databases
? Manage and update multiple calendars
? General supervision support during after-school program, performances, and/or special events
? Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering
information required to perform functions.
? Assist with administrative duties in SMA office
? Other duties as assigned by SMA staff

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

? Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
? Strong leadership and ability to facilitate collaborative learning
? Excellent verbal and written skills
? Strong analytical skills
? Efficiency at MS Office and Google Suite
? Passion for creative youth development and/or music education
? Current enrollment in a music education, music business, business, statistics, BS or BA degree program in
a university/college or related experience
? Prior experience with middle and/or high school students
