The Stax Music Academy offers all students unique performance and travel opportunities in both its After School and  Summer Music Experience programs.

• Major public concerts in Memphis each year include February’s Black History Month performance, SMA Spring Concert, and June’s Summer Music Experience Grand Finale at Overton Park’s Levitt Shell.
• Throughout the year, students also perform a wide variety of private concerts for corporations, other nonprofit organizations, assisted living centers, individuals, and others. Each year, students perform at Napa Café’s Heart Full of Soul fundraising dinner to benefit the academy; the event is a two-night special auction and dinner with students performing curated songs from the Stax catalog that are paired with multiple courses of gourmet cuisine.
• SMA also offers invaluable travel opportunities. Students have performed in Italy, Australia, Berlin, Germany; New York City’s Lincoln Center, Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center and Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall, the Rock Hall of Fame, Orlando’s Disneyworld, New Orleans, St. Louis, Boston, and other prestigious locations and venues.
