PBS: Memphis youth carry on the legacy of Stax Records Soul Music

On Saturday, July 7, 2018, PBS NewsHour featured a national story on the Stax Music Academy, filmed the day of our Spring Concert at historic Clayborn Temple in Memphis, ground zero for the organizers of the 1968 Sanitations Workers Strike that brought Dr. Martin Luther King Junior to Memphis. The concert featured Stax “message” songs from 1968 and after, which made the label one of the main contributors to the soundtrack of the Civil Rights Movement. See the full story HERE.
