The Stax Music Academy is now accepting audition requests for the 2019-2020 SNAP After School Program and its 2020 June Summer Music Experience. The ensembles in the SNAP After School program include: Stax Music Academy Rhythm Section, Stax Music Academy Junior Rhythm Section, Stax Jazz Ensemble, Stax Vocal Jazz, Street Corner Harmonies, Premier Percussionists, Stax Vocal Classics, Audio Engineering & Production, and Spoken Word. In addition, all students study music theory and this year marks a turn toward songwriting and creating original music with the addition of a songwriting classroom equipped with multiple keyboards and a songwriting instructor.

The Summer Music Experience will be held in June 2020 and includes vocal and instrumental instruction as well as classes in music history, marketing, publishing, business, songwriting, and more, including the Les Paul Be the Band competition in which groups of students create original songs and are judged by music industry professionals.
