Attention young singer-songwriters! Elevate your musical journey this summer at the 2024 SMA Songwriting Camp, hosted by the legendary Stax Music Academy from July 15th to July 19th. This dynamic week-long immersion offers aspiring musicians a unique opportunity to hone their craft in writing, producing, and recording original music.

Price: $150. Tuition assistance and merit scholarships are available. No child is ever turned away due to inability to pay!

Who: Open to all 6th – 12th graders

In partnership with Crosstown Sync, participants will embark on an exhilarating journey aimed at crafting music primed for sync licensing, empowering them to earn money from streaming their own compositions.

Industry professionals guiding this experience include Motown artist Evvie McKinney, esteemed songwriter Darian Davis, and writer/producer Ryan Peel. Together, they will lead students through the creative process of songwriting, culminating in a Wrap-Up Listening Party on that final Friday of camp.

Camp Day Overview:

Camp Hours: 9 am – 5 pm (Early drop-off from 8:15 am)

9 – 10 am: Vision Boarding and Fellowship

10 am – 12 pm: Writing and Demoing

12 – 1 pm: Lunch

1 – 5 pm: Recording and Producing

5 pm: Pick up
