What is the Music Employs Program?

The Music Employs program offers a unique blend of hands-on learning, academic credit, and industry connections. Whether you’re a high school student or a young adult, this program is your gateway to a fulfilling career in music.

How to Get Involved:

To be eligible for the Music Employs program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • GPA: Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25.
  • Grade Level: Be in grades 5-12 or be an adult learner.
  • Advanced Production Student: Be enrolled in advanced production courses.
  • Application Process: Complete the application, interview, and essay requirements.
  • Pre-Assessment: Pass required pre-assessments.
  • Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in each level of the program.
  • Graduation Requirements: Be on track to meet Tennessee State Graduation Requirements (for high school students).
  • Resume and Recommendations: Submit a completed resume and two letters of recommendation.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Be able to commit to a flexible schedule.
  • Attendance: Maintain consistent attendance.
  • Parental Consent: Obtain parental consent (for minors).
  • Background Check: Complete a background check (for non-school-age students).
  • Good Behavior: Maintain a good behavior record.
  • Transportation: Have reliable transportation.
