Get ready for Mic Drop 2025, Stax Music Academy’s premier songwriting competition and music industry networking event for youth! This year, we’re turning up the volume with more opportunities than ever to connect, create, and shine.
1:00 – 2:00 PM | Music Industry Networking & Super Panel
Before the show starts, meet the people who make the music world go ’round! Young artists will have the chance to connect one-on-one with professionals across the music industry—PR experts, producers, marketers, content creators, managers, and more. Whether you’re curious about behind-the-scenes roles or looking to launch your artist career, this hour is your backstage pass to insider insight, mentorship, and inspiration. Held in the lobby outside the Green Room.
2:30 PM | Live Songwriting Competition Showcase
Watch the next generation of singer-songwriters hit the stage! Selected contestants will perform one original song in front of a panel of music industry judges. Performances will be evaluated on creativity, lyrics, and delivery—and the top 3 will walk away with major prize packages designed to launch their careers.
PRIZE PACKAGES for Top 3 Finalists Include:
- $500 cash
- Professional studio time
- Artist bio written by a music journalist
- Professional photoshoot
- Swag bags
