MEMPHIS – The Stax Music Academy is kicking off its annual September PRODUCTION MONTH on September 1, 2023 with a free event at Caroljna Watershed from 5-8 pm. Production Month allows music students in middle and high school the chance to gather with fellow young songwriters and producers to share their musical masterpieces, forge new connections, and embark on thrilling collaborations for the future. This student-led event sets the stage for an evening of fun, music, and collaboration.

The event kicks off with an open mic session during the first hour. If students would like to showcase their musical talents they may contact Chris Woodard at and send their track or live instrumentation set-up.
Attendees may end the evening on a crescendo of musical synergy by bringing your instruments for a jam session.
Admission is entirely free for all area middle and high school students. “This is your chance to be part of an event that celebrates the fusion of creativity, innovation, and camaraderie,” said Stax Music Academy Executive Director Isaac Daniel.
